Inception

GETS Theological Seminary started as Global Enrichment Theological Seminary in 2002.

With the blessings of the Global Life Enrichment Center in 2009, the school was restructured by forming a Board of Directors, an administrative team, and a full-time faculty team, and setting up an administrative center in Los Angeles, and after all the restructuring was completed, the name of the school was officially changed to GETS Theological Seminary. With the efforts of coworkers, GETS has been accredited by the Asia Theological Association (ATA) since 2010.

GETS US offered the class in San Diego, California in 2014, and received the approval to operate from the Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education (BPPE) in 2018. To meet the eligibility requirements for accreditation by the Association of Theological Schools (ATS), in November 2020 the Board of Directors reached a unanimous agreement to retain the name, GETS Theological Seminary for the GETS US campus and establish it as an independent institution from GETS International, which consists of the rest of GETS campuses around the world.
